Adult Acne: What is Acne Vulgaris?

Acne vulgaris is actually just the medical name for what we know as acne.

Acne vulgaris is a skin condition that primarily affects adolescents, and around 96% of teenagers will suffer from it to certain degree.

Acne vulgaris usually disappears sometime during the late teens and early twenties, but if it persists into the late twenties and beyond, or it doesn’t appear until this later stage, then we know it as adult acne.

Although acne vulgaris can be physically and emotionally damaging at any age, causing long term scarring and a loss of self confidence, adult acne can be particularly devastating as fewer of our peers are experiencing the same problems.
