Review of the Mini Zeno Acne Device
Although I don’t suffer with very bad adult acne, I have been considering trying out the Zeno acne device for quite a while. When a friend showed me her Zeno Mini I decided such a cute gadget must be worth a try, and it’s quite a lot cheaper than the original Zeno acne device so if it didn’t work I wasn’t losing much.
Why Did I Buy the Zeno Mini Acne?
As I mentioned my adult acne isn’t extreme but I do sometimes get those big red throbbing bumps that don’t ever come to a head, that feel like you’ve got a pulsating golf ball under your skin and hurt like hell. While I only occasionally get them on my face I frequently get them on my back and shoulders.
Usually this isn’t a problem as I just avoid strappy tops for a few days, but I have a couple of weddings coming up and I’ve splashed out on a really lovely
strapless dress for them. I figured the chances of getting one of these blinders just before one of the weddings was pretty high, so I thought having the Zeno Mini on standby was a good investment to make sure I could actually wear the dress.
Does the Zeno Mini Acne Work?
As it happens I got one of those humdingers I was talking about around two weeks after my Zeno Mini arrived and long before the build up to the weddings, so I had chance to experiment. I used the Zeno Acne device as soon as I got home from work, or I should say my husband did – I know that’s gross but my arms just aren’t that flexible!
We both thought the device was really easy to use and were a bit surprised at the reviews that said it was complicated – there’s just one button! It wasn’t as hot as I expected although it did feel warm to start with and I had a slight red mark for a few minutes after the treatment. We were glad of the 30 seconds beep as we were chattering away and would probably have lost track of time otherwise.
By the time I woke up the next morning the spot was much smaller and didn’t hurt at all. As it hadn’t completely disappeared we did do another treatment before work, and by the time I got back from the office in the evening there was just a small red mark to show where the spot had been. I don’t know how long that took to fade as I forgot to check but it’s definitely gone now.
I’ll be keeping this great gadget around for the next time I get a throbbing spot. As well as meaning I can wear strappy tops I’m hoping it will work as well for the odd spots I get on my face, which predictably always put in an appearance the day before an important business meeting or presentation.
