Triggers for Adult Acne and Acne Rosacea
Identifying environmental and lifestyle triggers that cause adult acne or acne rosacea to flare up can be a great way to reduce your symptoms. By recognising and avoiding these factors you can begin to treat your acne holistically.
Adult acne triggers are very personal and something that causes a flare up in one person can have no impact on another acne sufferer. For this reason it can take some time to identify your own triggers, and it’s a good idea to keep a diary of your break outs.
Some of the environmental triggers that can make adult acne and ace rosacea worse include:
- Exposure to sunlight
- Emotional stresses
- Hot or cold weather, humidity or excessive wind
- Certain foods such as dairy or particular fruits
- Drinking alcohol
- Eating spicy food
- Skin care products
- Certain types of medication
- Heavy exercise
